The last few days have had devastating effects on the West Coast of the United States. Fires had been raging in California since weeks and suddenly on Sept 8 several new fires started in different locations close to urban areas. The effects of this disaster are not yet known as fires at this point are not contained.

This has been the second time in six years that fires have been only a 10 minutes drive away from my home. My friends are fine though some lost their houses. I am still digesting what has been happening. The skies are dark red or grey depending on the position of the sun. As I am writing it is raining ash. My heart is in tears.
